Apparently, as Christians, we fall into two groups of those who are proactive in matters pertaining to the culture, business and government.
Those in one group heavily invest in a purely spiritual approach. They are disciplined biblically, know how to discern God’s will, and are familiar with His power. They do not, however, possess current facts to articulate well beyond their inner circle. For them, prophetic
possibility is the extent of the picture they experience; and, at least verbally, the
possibility always exists. Hope is present, of course, and hope is powerful; but a decision to push further than they’ve been before, and a strategy for doing so have not yet impacted their routine.
The other group has at the center of
their routine a ticker-tape reading of current events as new information unfolds. They serve in the marketplace and impact their community by their very lives—they are hard working, consistent and dependable. This group, however, lacks genuine biblical discipline and so relies upon matters of the intellect, or training. Theirs is not a worldview shaped by this morning’s saturation in God’s Word, though they probably have read a few verses recently, listened to a short audio teaching, and are doing the best they can on the spiritual fuel gained thereby. Spiritual power is not familiar to them—principle, yes; power, no.
