Your Words Stand Before The Lord

Elijah stood on the mountain that day. The presence of the Lord came as a strong wind that tore into the mountain where Elijah stood. For Elijah, the Lord was not in the wind or the earthquake that followed, nor the fire that came next. The Lord’s presence that day was a still, small voice.

A word from the Lord is superior to strong and contrary winds; a word from the Lord is the strongest navigational aid possible, greater than any natural force. When pressures heat up your circumstances, call to mind the Word you have from Him and use it as a sword that cuts both ways—to open the path as a purging instrument and protection once the way is clear.
 
Remember the most recent word that you received from the Lord. Call to mind and meditate on it or you just might forget it in the heat of battle. The Lord is not “like a man” that He would say and then not do, or speak and not follow through. God’s Word to you is for blessing. Value His word more highly than anything because, for you, it is the “still, small voice.” 
 
Stand before the Lord: Ignore the strong winds, shakings, and fire. Listen for the steady voice of the Lord. His voice is Wisdom. Preserve what you hear by guarding what you say… concerning this wind, this shaking, this fire. Guard what you say so that you—and your words—may stand before the Lord! 
 
What did the Lord say? Why did you trust it in the first place? Settle what you believe and what you do not. Get it straight. Keep it straight. Write it down.
 
Value His word more highly that anything.
